Darren started, Darren Hart Photography, back in 1991.
He worked closely with a German photographer who was my mentor, taught me all aspects of studio photography, lighting, and, location photography.
I learned more from him, with a hands on approach, than from any text book.
1998 to present day – I joined the Hornsby Chamber of Commerce.
I soon became their official photographer, covering Chamber events, corporate events, meetings, etc.
In the late 90’s, dance music events started to spring up in unique venues, some people called them raves.
These events were held in some remarkable venues, like, The Powerhouse Museum, old disused warehouses, factories, cruise boats, the Enmore Theatre, just to name a few.
At this time, a weekly street magazine came out highlighting dance music events in, and, around, Sydney, called 3D World.
Photographers could contribute to a page called, “Under the Mirrorball”. I was contributing to this page on a regular weekly basis.
Word quickly spread around about my photography, at these events. They wanted to be in, “Under the Mirrorball”.
1999 – 2008 , the manager/owner of Slamm Records, Sydney, liked my style of photography, I worked with Slamm Records for a number of years
doing DJ shoots, in clubs, for up coming CD releases. These photos were used on the CD covers, and, booklets in the CD.
2001 July – Slamm Records released a CD called, Live @ Love Parade 01. They sent me to Berlin, Germany, to get photos from the actual Love Parade.
Over 1,000,000 people were in and around the streets of Berlin, celebrating dance music. See photos in international Albums.
2008 – 2015 – I was the official photographer for ARQ Nightclub in Sydney. ARQ Nightclub is one of Sydney’s leading gay clubs.
ARQ had special events by international DJ’s and performers. It was a great venue to work at with some great photo opportunities.
2009 – 2013 – I worked at HOME nightclub, Darling Harbour. HOME also had nights with international DJ’s and performers. For many years the big Friday night event at HOME was, VOODOO. Always attracted a full club turnout, one of the most memorable events was when, Showtec, from the Netherlands appeared. Great music, great photos!
I am still adding events to this site, on a regular basis, still love attending music events.
